Humboldt County Landscapes by Sheik & Wong will be showing at Los Bagels Truchas Gallery June and July.

   From Bear River to Trinidad Head, NATURE BATS LAST represents some of this county's most scenic vistas captured by Humboldt's two most gonzo painters.

    These works can best be described as landscapes with a graffiti edge, combining raw Humboldt County scenery with the bold colors and dark outlines of graffiti art.  Each painting is a one of a kind, representing a safari to the location and painted on site.

    “Transitioning from graffiti to landscape painting hasn't been easy, say Sheik and Wong," but it is all about reaching the next level as artists. We've got plenty of street cred already, now its time for some gallery cred.  Influences include Hunter S. Thompson, Shawn Griggs, Flava Flav and The Group of 7." 

A reception for the artists will be held on Saturday, June 5th, 6-9 p.m. Los Bagels is located at 403 Second Street in Eureka.
